Your options for Ofsted compliance — compared honestly

CareClarity is not the only option. Here is how it compares to the alternatives — including where those alternatives are better.

Recommended

CareClarity

  • Available 24/7 — not just during business hours
  • Purpose-built for the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and SCCIF April 2026
  • Aligned to Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026
  • Structured, evidenced feedback on specific documents
  • Consistent standard — same quality of review every time
  • Your documents are never stored or used to train AI models
  • Costs a fraction of ongoing consultancy
  • All 7 tools included in every plan
  • 7-day free trial — no upfront commitment

Hiring a consultant

  • Available only when scheduled — not in a crisis or out of hours
  • Quality varies significantly between individual consultants
  • Day rates typically £500–£1,500 — ongoing cost is significant
  • Good for mock inspections and strategic planning
  • Does not scale to review every document your team produces
  • Relationship-dependent — losing your consultant creates a gap
  • Can be excellent — but not a substitute for day-to-day quality tools

Generic AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot)

  • No knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
  • No alignment to SCCIF April 2026 or Working Together 2026
  • Cannot assess documents against the 9 Quality Standards
  • Output quality varies — requires expert review to validate
  • Your documents may be used to train the model
  • Gives plausible-sounding answers that may be factually wrong in a regulated context
  • Useful for general writing tasks — not for regulatory compliance feedback

Internal processes alone

  • Relies on the knowledge of whoever is available at the time
  • No external perspective — blind spots go unidentified
  • Quality of review depends on staff experience and workload
  • Managers often reviewing their own team's work without an independent lens
  • Works well for experienced, well-resourced teams
  • Creates risk when staff are new, stretched, or the team is going through change

Common questions

Questions we get asked about CareClarity vs the alternatives

Does CareClarity replace an independent consultant?

No — and it is not designed to. CareClarity handles the day-to-day compliance work: reviewing documents, checking logs, assessing supervision records, and preparing Reg 45 submissions. A good independent consultant handles strategic preparation, mock inspections, and complex regulatory advice. The two work best together.

Is CareClarity just a generic AI wrapped in a care-sector interface?

No. CareClarity is built on models that have been specifically trained and prompted against the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the 9 Quality Standards, the SCCIF April 2026, and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026. Generic tools like ChatGPT do not have this regulatory grounding — and in a regulated sector, that difference matters.

What happens to the documents I upload?

Your document content is used only to generate your feedback. It is never stored, logged, or used to train any AI model. CareClarity is operated by GFE Tech Group Ltd, ICO registered (ZC153731), and GDPR compliant.

Can CareClarity tell me if my home will pass an Ofsted inspection?

No tool can do that — and any that claims to is overstating what is possible. CareClarity can tell you where your documents, logs, supervision records, and reports are strong or weak relative to the regulatory framework Ofsted uses. What you do with that information is yours to determine.
